Black Friday at the Beach

Don't think you need to stay on the Western Shore to get great deals on Black Friday.  Once you've enjoyed the fabulous meals prepared for you by some of the best chefs around, walked on the beach, relaxed with some of the spa treatments available in Ocean City, why don't you start Friday early, REALLY early?

Thanksgiving Day 2009 in Ocean City, MD

Thanksgiving is less than a month away and you still have options.  Just imagine getting up on Thanksgiving morning without an urgent agenda.  You don't need to baste the turkey or make the pies. You don't have to vacuum, scrub, or decorate.

The "Nontypical" Season

Anyone who has walked to the boardwalk's southern-most extremity, here in Ocean City, has undoubtedly seen the massive shark in the tank.  Well, that massive shark has been dwarfed by the crew of the Nontypical and anglers Terry Layton and Jim Hughes.  As a business owner in OC (Layton's uptown), Layton has been a passionate angler for many years but the 876 pound mako shark, landed this summer, as well as a string of competitive results has made this summer sportfishing season, the season of the Nontypical.

August is All Gusto

Well, it's August already.  The summer has been passing by at nearly mach speed.  When I think of August in OC i think of one thing;  the White Marlin Open.  I grew up within a close vicinity of the fishing tournament, one of the largest in the world, and each year the scene grows and the merriment involved is ever more apparent.  It begins this coming Monday, August 3rd, and I'll be there.  Until Later,

drumroll please

And here its is folks; the 30th Annual BJ's Canoe Race.  This event has gone off like this for the past thirty years.  You're parents were there, maybe your grandparents for some of you out there.  Its just another day of clean cheap fun in Ocean City.

Enjoy,

Tomorrow Today

Hello all,

Ian T here again teetering on the brink of chaos at the start of  long week.  Today was relatively uneventful with the only budget travel tip I can relay to you, the masses, being the two-for-one drink, happy hour special at Coconuts, in the Castle in the Sand on 35th street.  Tomorrow is the 30th annual BJ's Canoe Race and you can bet your butt I'm going to be there representing; But who for?

I guess you'll just have to wait and find out.

Dastardly deeds of dubious discretion

Like a child sneaking candies and realizing his parents knowingly allowed his imminent stomach ache, so to have I nervously and awkward crept through the last few days.  It's as if I half expect the good times and cheap living to abruptly cease.

OCLowDown Episode Two

Independence Day

Yet again it has been another day missed in my blog, and I have been spread oh-so thin...
